Volks'AZLK

z

When Moskvich - 408 AZLK has embarked on a new model of development, aimed at improving the range. However, the prototype is still a prototype, as well as several others...

Moskvich 3-5-6. Only few people have heard of this. It started to develop in 1967. For a sample taken Moskvich - 408, extended it to 10 cm, lengthened to 20 cm up and a sprained on 15 cm. Little changed design of tail, made a more flat roof... A motor stuck old, from 412, why the speed and traction was suxx. But it was a real soviet design!

However, this model is outdated by the time of its creation. Along with the release of M-2140 was preparing an ambitious new car, also 3-5-6, and also similar in size to the previous... The design has changed radically in a BMW-520-style to brush aside those years. The old engine has increased in volume to 1.8 litres and put Weber two-barrel carburetor, made this power in 103 (!) h.p. With this engine car complected by automatic three-gear transmission Borg-Warner.

However, the car did not go in the series. Proceeded to develop new, have time and again. First was Delta. Moving some on Volvo or Dacia...

Then came a C-series. It starts M-2141. But! Prototype M-2141 Simca Talbot was in 1976, a series of C-vehicle own design. There have already started experimenting with Mc-Pherson suspension and front drive. Motors remained the same...

Moskvitch 408-GT

Pilot sample Moskvich - 408 Class grand tourismo index "408 - Tourist".

Total issued two copies in 1964. Differences of serial model and this prototype was a removable hardtop, two-door body and electronic fuel injection (!), thus raise engine output to 63 h.p. Almost all-aluminum chassis (mass of about 960 kg). Maximal speed - 130 km / h. No car is not still alive.

ZiM is not for all

z

It's real cool! If you have this car - you are Communist "Bonza": VIP worker with all of the all goods of soviet life in 1950th. This vehicle was not available to ordinary citizens, it is not sold in sale.
The design of this car reminds American dream rides from late of 1950th: Mercury or Lincoln. Produced in 1950-1960's on Molotov's Car Plant (ZiM), later GAZ. The index gained 12. Inside used most expensive at that time material: plastic, it was steering wheel and some decors into dashboards, and the real wood.
First time GAZ-12 was painted in two colors: brown or black, later began to paint two colors simultaneously. In early 1960's was popular in the big cities as taxis, and VIP communist functionaries.

Brief GAZ-12 :

Number of seats - 6
Drive type - rear
Weight - 2390 kg
Length - 5530 mm
Width - 1900 mm
Height - 1660 mm
Wheelbase - 3200 mm
Track front/rear - 1460/1500 mm
Top speed - 160 km/h.
Engine model - GAZ-12
Type - Inline 6 cylinders
Displacement - 3.48 litres.
Fuel system - 1 carburetor type K-21
Max. output - 90 h.p. in 3600 rpm
Max. torque - 210 N*m at 2100 rpm
Clutch - dry single disc
Transmission - mechanical, three gears

Russian Jeep

z

This time it will be a truly authentic Russian jeep with the unique design. UAZ? Niva? No ... it's Moskvitch! The M-2150 is self-development AZLK-plant based prototype M-415/416 1960. Design remained almost the same. Fornt and rear suspension was live axle with semi-elliptical springs, a comfortable lounge (as the M-2140), drive a motor UMZ-412 (1.48 litre, 75 HP), max velosity 120 km/h. Very impressive off-road capabilities.
Again, the series did not go. A pity, because the unique characteristics of the car - less than UAZ, more than Niva. Comfortable, dynamic (because it was charged by motor from Ufa motor plant, it is like vroom-vroom to be flexible and live), and the original "soviet laconic" exterior.
